John Golfin, born in 1965, raised and based in Bondi Beach Sydney Australia, is a retired IT Professional who is travelling to every UN Country in the World to film comedy documentaries (a genre he created in 1993), which he uses as fundraisers for a charity he founded in 2012 that supports orphan children in Bangkok Thailand, Freetown Sierra Leone and Saweni Fiji. As at September 2025, John has produced 23 films, visited 136 countries and run 10km+ in 131, chasing the UN full-member total of 193.
John was one of the most experienced independent IT Program Managers in Australia 1988-2021. He completed 18 major IT projects with involvement in another 21, mostly implementing wall-to-wall SAP business applications for large enterprises. His IT projects were typically 18-36mths long, 100-300+ persons, $USD30-200m+ budgets, which involved large-scale business transformation and multiple sites, stakeholders and IT vendors. This was the result of being part of a consulting team that set up SAP in Australia for the first time in 1989.
John is also grateful to have received the University Medal in Aeronautical Engineering in 1987 for pioneering work leading to the manufacture of winglets for commercial aircraft, singing in the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, summiting 5,895m Kilimanjaro in 52hrs in 2016, running the New York Marathon at age 54 and meeting two Greek Orthodox Patriarchs (like Popes) in Constantinople (Istanbul) in 1988 and 2015.
